You're about to know everything there is to know about the beautiful neighborhood of Cotswold and what's going on over there.
So Cotswold is a neighborhood that was started in the 1950s and 1960s so you have a lot of older homes. So the beauty of Cotswold is its location, it is located very close to uptown Charlotte. Maybe 10 minutes, 10 minutes to South Park, about 15 or 20 minutes to the airport. And the beauty of this neighborhood is that it's in transition, because it started in the 1950s and 1960s you can pick up an older home or you can take the older home, knock it down, and build a home of your dreams, which is what's happening there, and the neighborhood is going through a complete transition.
The Cotswold area kind of borders the intersections of Providence Road, Randolph Road, and Sharon Amity Road, all major streets here in Charlotte. Shopping is right nearby in the Cotswold Shopping Center. It is probably one of the oldest shopping centers in all of Charlotte. They've just built a new Publix there, there is a Harris Teeter there to compete, there's everything there. Plus you're close to everything in Cotswold as far as shopping is concerned. And, if you're a physician working either at the main center of Novant Hospital or CMC, Carolina's Medical Center, this is an ideal location, so close to the major medical centers.
Farmhouse homes in Charlotte, NC
Many of the new homes being built in Cotswold are farmhouse type homes. They are very charming, very open interiors, very classy, very classic builds. Many of them are custom built homes. In addition, there are some other beautiful older homes as well. In the last six months, there have been 82 homes sold in Cotswold. That's a lot of homes. Home prices are ranging from about $232,000 for a 1300 square foot home, which would be perfect to take down and build your dream home, up to about $2 million, which is a new record in the Cotswold area, for a 6,300 square foot home. Home prices here average about $800,000, however, the new ones are going way over a million. I would say 1.3 to about 1.6, and the prices continue to go up in this area.
If these homes are priced right, homes here in Cotswold are flying off the market. Currently there are only 31 homes available for purchase in Cotswold. So if you take the fact that in the last six months 83 have sold, we've got 31 now, you've got about a three month supply, maybe. Some of the newer homes are absolutely breathtaking, like I mentioned before, farmhouse style homes, and I'm going to take you into one of those homes in a future video coming up, probably next week.
Beautiful Cotswold, a mixture of charm and elegance!
Cotswold has both new and old, and is much more affordable than homes in the Myers Park, Eastover and South Park area, and one of the areas that is certainly gaining steam and up-and-coming. If you're thinking of making a move to Charlotte or within Charlotte. If you want to build a home, if you want to resale a home, remember, my gift is people, my profession is finding you a home, and together we can create the next best part of your life.
